Greenhouse Gas Emission Monitoring Plan and Preparation of Monitoring Report

The training includes awareness of employees about climate change for all institutions and organizations as well as knowledge on corporate carbon management, Greenhouse Gas Emission Monitoring Plan and Monitoring Report Preparation.

The first step involves what climate change is and reflects on the world and economic sectors in Turkey. In addition, general information on Turkey´s position in the international climate change challenge is given.

Secondly, basic greenhouse gas emission information is given as concepts of greenhouse gas emissions, resources and carbon footprint. Later, detailed information is given on the acquis and obligations related to greenhouse gas emissions, which are particularly relevant to the private sector in Turkey.

In this context, creating detailed report of a monitoring plan, carbon footprint calculation, how to report greenhouse gas emissions and reporting standards (ISO 14064, greenhouse gas protocol, etc.) are explained. Furthermore, data collection for carbon footprint calculation and points that organizations should take note of in reporting are included in the training.

Finally, it is explained the opportunities created for the private sector by climate change struggling and what needs to be done to benefit from these opportunities.
